Ancora's Way was created as a safe haven for people who have been told they're "too much" -- too intense, too emotional, too sensitive.

Here, every feeling and every story is welcome. This is a space to feel safe with your emotions and discover that every part of you deserves compassion and acceptance.
About Us

At Ancora's Way, therapy is real and human. We will talk about all of the hard things -- the trauma, shame, loss, and grief -- but we will also focus on building skills, creating safety, finding hope, and living authentically. Our approach blends evidence-based care with lived experience and compassion, so you can feel deeply supported and truly understood.

Meet Dr. Gibbons
Dr. Aaliyah Gibbons is the founder of Ancora's Way and a licensed clinical psychologist. She specializes in trauma treatment, with a focus on helping clients create safety, release shame, and grow into their most authentic selves.
Dr. Gibbons believes that the best interventions combine evidence-based practice with real heart. When courage, honesty, and genuine human connection are present, lasting change and healing can take place. She is especially passionate about working with people who have carried shame or have felt the need to hide parts of themselves. She creates a space where every part of you is seen, heard, and appreciated.
Her background includes training, clinical work, and research across diverse settings including inpatient hospitals, forensic systems, and private practice. These experiences have shaped her trauma informed, culturally responsive approach to care. Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Gibbons is an author, consultant, and public speaker.
